Recovery problem

After a shock power a NT workstation cannot load OS. After the recovery process using the CD and Emergency Diskette the OS is loading by it does't recognise any passwords, even of administrators'.
In which file store NT4.0 the passwords ? Can I copy the file from another system administrators' password being the same ?

Passwords for NT are located in a .sam file.

Have you tried running a repair and over-writing existing security credentials?

If you have, you may want to try this website:

It contains information about a boot disk written in Linux which can alter passwords for local accounts.
