I know I should save, save, save but sometimes I get ahead of myself and these are always the times that my P.C. chooses to crash. I know that photshop saves a temp file for me but does anyone know how to access this?
Thanking you all in advance.
P.S. Everything posted here so far has been a big help. It's good to know you're out there.

I could be wrong...but in the windows temp? I wasn't aware that photoshop had a temp...GOSH! If I would have know that, I could have saved myself a lot of work! I'm interested to know this too!

good question cufevi!

TexanBetty,

You are correct. Photoshop creates a temp file in C:\WINDOWS\TEMP (or whatever drive you windows directory is on).

BUT... that is not used for re-opening a session after your program or machine crashes. It is used for jumping to ImageReady.

"When jumping between Photoshop and ImageReady, the applications use a temp file for transferring changes." That comes from the help section in Photoshop.

Sorry. If you don't save your work, and something goes wrong, you have to start all over again.

Hope this helps! NATE

Thanks folks. At least when you know it's dead and it's staying dead it saves you wasting time on the CPR esppecially when you've spent that time blowing up the wrong end. thanks again.
