I've had to reinstall XP.

How do I recover my mail? I don't eman import them, I mean just copy the old file over top of the new one.

No matter how much I look I cannot find a file that contains all my emails.

What type of "re-install" did you do? A repair install, an install over a current copy of XP. or a format/re-install?

if you didnt format, then go to
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

and you 'should' find an OST file.

worked for me this weekend when my pc went legs first in the air...

If you save your mail to a local file, it will probably be a .PST file.

I found them - phew!

They were in Docs & Settings ... Identities/{a huge hex number}.

I just copied them to the /{huge hex number}/ folder with the most recent creation date, and they're fine.

I hate Microsoft.
