I have set up an Access front-end to a MS SQL database as a quick-and-easy interface for end-users to manipulate the data in our databases. I thought I was thru setting up the forms and in efforts to create a "cleaner" interface for our users, I set it up so that on clicking on the icon for the interface, a head form would pop-up and from there the use would navigate to where they wanted to be within the database. This was done through tools->startup... and under the form that pops up I selected the form that should start on start-up and then shut off all of the options available. Well, this would have been fine if I did not need to make changes to the forms, but I have found that I need some more buttons... and when I try to add the new buttons to the already-existing forms, I can't because I am minus the widget-toolbar. How can I get that toolbar back???

Hi!

When you open the Db hold down the shift key and Access will bypass the startup options.

If you need to temporarily disable the "special toolbars" effect, just hold down SHIFT when opening the database, and it will bypass your startup features.

If you need to permanently disable this effect, do the above and go to Tools->Startup and be sure "Allow Built-In Toolbars" is checked.
