Action: Inserted a Windows XP Installation CD to overwrite an existing installation. Deleted the C: Drive partition which had the operating system on it. Then accidentally deleted the d: drive partition which has the data on it.
I have not reformatted any of the partitions, just deleted them from the XP Setup screen. I believe they were both NTFS.
I need the D: Drive partition recovered although I cannot boot into Windows. Any assistance?

Can you get that hard drive put in another machine that has an operating system to run the data recovery programs? If you can then your chances of a full recovery are pretty good. If you install an operating system onto this hard drive on this, your machine, then the chances of success diminish somewhat.

Data recovery.

Plenty of other recovery software listed here.
