I did a pretty project with VFP 5 before. Lately, I have just accepted a project that requires VFP 8 to write. Would anybody please recommned me any books to let me up to speed, thanks!

Billy,

If you know how to use VFP 5.0, I wouldn't have thought you'd need to buy a book to upgrade you to 8.0. Just read the What's New section in the Help.

That said, there are a lot of new features, and many of them were introduced in 6.0 and 7.0, so maybe a more recent general text would be useful.

I've posted some reviews of recent VFP books on my web site, at Any of my "Top three recommendations" would be a good choice for you.

Thanks for your recommendations, Mike! I have placed the orders in amazon.com. It's been a while and I almost forgot everything already. I have not touched VFP for so many years since I started to write Java. I really want to pick up the advanced features and new APIs. The ActiveX stuff seems pretty cool to me too.

Thanks again!
