I want the Microsoft to automatically recognize an e-mail address from the contacts list when I am typing. What should I do? For example, if I want to send a message to Person A, when I start typing "P" the outlook automatically goes to "P people" and helps me find the person quickly without having to go to the Contacts folder, select, place in "to" box, etc. SO if I keep typing I will be able to see the e-mail listed.

How about checking "automatic name checking" and "suggest names while typing To: CC: BCC:" in the advanced email options settings?

Then you have to make sure you have chosen "show the folder as an email addres book" in your contact folder settings.

This will then allow you to type just a few characters of names and it will auto fill for you.

Example

I have the following users in contacts

John Doe
Billy Dee
Homer jackson

I begin a new mail and type in

jo do;bi de;hom ja; will all resolve to the names above
As long as you type some form of the name it will be fine. I could have easily done john d;billy d;homer j or j doe;bi dee;hom jack etc....
