recipient policy

Hi,

In my default recipient policy are some strange entries.
Can you tell my, if I can delete them or do I need them?

CCMAIL USERNAME at CITY
MS ABC/CITY/USERNAME
SMTP USERNAME@DOMAIN.COM
X400 c=COM;a=;p=CITY;s=USERNAME

all users in my organization get this 4 adresses

We have 3 Exchange 2003 servers
and only Outlook as client.

There is nothing strange about that.
Those are standard protocols for mail.

The CCMail and MS addresses suggest that you have migrated from an Exchange 5.5 environment. If you have completely removed your old Exch 5.5, then you can get rid of these safely. They won't hurt your system if you leave them alone.

***Do NOT remove SMTP, X.400, or X.500 addresses*** They are required for proper function of Exchange 2000/2003.

I know that i can´t delete smtp,x400 and x500 adresses
from the default recipient policy.

But can i delete x400 adresses from a self-created policy?

If you create a policy that you don't like or need, you can always delete it and all the address spaces that go with it. Exchange will revert to the default policy. Just note that deleting the policy won't remove the additional addresses on the accounts in your domain. You will have to manually remove any invalid addresses from each account.

PScottC, sorry, but that is not necessarily correct.

If 'Automatically update e-mail addresses based on recipient policy' is checked, they will be removed after the next recipient policy's update schedule.
