Hello all, i am wondering if anyone can give some advice on this please?

I have a CS1000 v5 and we are deploying 11xx phones out across our company. In some areas we have reception type functions and they want to work in a similar way to a console. We will be putting 1140e with KEM on to these people and what we would like to do is allow the 'receptionist' to see each line that is in use in the building (we could use SCN for this) BUT we also want the receptionist to be able to press that button and call the person (we could use HOT D 4 xxxx for this)... What I want is both!! I want the receptionist to see the state of the line and use the same button as a hotline. I was wondering if BOSS/SEC would allow this or is there a better way. I had also considered making the button the SCN and SHIFT button to be the hotline.

Hope that all makes sense...!

Any thoughts?

You can use BFS keys to see the status of the set. This only shows the status of the set not each individual line. These keys can be used as autodial keys. Be sure to turn off the BFS call forwarding feature or you will have the receptionist forwarding various phones to them.

That works! Can you answer a quick question... when I press the button set to BFS I get a prompt "Activate Filtering..." What does this mean? Can I get rid of it? Apart from that I believe it is exactly what I am after. I actually want the ability to transfer calls so that is cool!

Thanks for the help - very quick response!!!

I don't know off the top of my head but it sounds like forwarding is still turned on. Check the FTR_DATA in the customer data block. Print in ld 21 change in ld 15. The prompt you are looking for is BSFE, set that to NO.
