Receiving error when installing SMS2.0 on server that was a 1.2 client

I have a server that was previously a client of a SMS1.2 installation. I am now trying to make this machine the SMS2.0 primary site. However, when I start the installation, I get the error, "Setup has detected that this is an existing client access point (CAP) or a component server of an existing SMS site. You can only install SMS Administrator console on this computer." Any suggestions how to remove these components. Will the clicln.bat, that I just read about, work?

I suggest rebuilding the server. Given that you want to make this an SMS primary site I'd err on making the system fresh now rather than having it break later (which it likely could) and have to rebuild an active primary site.
