Hello All,

I have a db that I built to do case audits. Each record has 25 fields to record answers to questions. What I need to do is turn the data from rows into columns so that I can then query the data for the top 5 most missed questions.

TIA,

Danny

look up crosstab in help. help is helpful, but only if you use it.

i know i have stressed the word 'help' but it is actually much quicker than these fora for simple questions

Crosstab is fine for a few fields. I have never been able to make it work for 25 fields.

From your initial post, I would assume that the table already includes the Correct (or NOT) as a boolean value. IF, a SIMPLISTIC aggregate query would total the columns. Finding the "top [bottom] 5" of the resultset should be an almost trivial exercise, and not actually require the transposition.

I can sum the columns. What I would like is then to be able to query and limit the output to the top 5. This works for rows of data not 1 rom with 25 columns. This is my dilemma.
