OK at the school where I work we have Realplayer installed for some media files. Only problem is that the little darlings have found that if they access web sites through Mediaplayer they can bypass the internet blocks.

So I want to be able to give them the use of Realplayer to play media files but block its access to the internet

Hi,
If properly configured, they should not be able to get out of your local intranet/network without going through your blocking point ( I assume some kind of Proxy).

I've tried changeing the options for the proxy etc in RP and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

We have aproxy ant I tried putting in some not existent proxy but it still seemed to connect.

I'll try again.

Do you have any firewall that can block WMP from accessing the Internet via its settings. WMP also has a Network Tab where you can Configure Internet access. You can use File Access Permissions on the WMP exe too and control access that way.

Disallow Internet Access
