I just built a server with Win 2003 Small Business Premium. I have installed RealVNC Server but cannot connect to it. I use a Linksys router. I've assigned port 5902 and have routed it to my server's IP address. I try to connect to my server IP address using ":5902" and I get "The connection closed unexpectedly."

Any ideas?

Thank you.

i'm sorry but i am a "i hate bill society"
but if it's 2003 server why are you not using ts with a /console switch

it is a superb feature in 2003
vnc is a piece of crap in comparison
ie an additional security weakness and pure remote

Remote Desktop is much better for Server 2003, but to help with your vnc problem... Make sure that if you have SP1 installed for Server 2003 that you disable the firewall for now for testing. Also, you have to open up 5800 or 5802 if you are using that and 5900 or 5902 on the linksys firewall.

Hi,

I do like and recommend the use of remote desktop. The user still wants to use VNC if desired.

Thank you for the responses!
