actually i could be doing the whole thing wrong! i set up the form with 4 drop downs populated by a single topic table (split up by topic categories) and the reset of the fields i dragged and dropped in "visual web developer" and named them myself. the form submits and ends up in 3 tables - user/login table, main program data table and a sub table of topics.
i need to read about 19 fields - dropdowns, check boxes, text inputs and text areas... i tried to figure out Grid and other such wysiwyg stuff but none of them seemed to be right for an INsert. i will be creating an edit form for this and am hoping to use grid or ? then...
please please help me... i'm going nuts... i can trade php help... : )
dzr: provide a little more clearly your approach. It seems you are trying to populate 4 dropdownlists using some identifier in a single table, then reading 19 fields of data (some of which are in GridView/DataGrid?). Outline your problem in some detail with specifics so we can get a better handle on what it is you are attempting to do. Its not clear how the email statement fits in either.
