Does anyone have a utlity that can read the transaction logs.

Thanks

I'm not sure this is anything you want to do. Its my understanding the transaction logs are really special text files that essentially contain the raw stream of message data before the server processes it.

They wouldn't be analagous to reading a router log if that's what you're asking.

I suppose if any utilities exist, they would be with the Exchange resource kits. Might also possibly try Exchange.org.

Thanks for helping.

I tried the Exchange Resource Kit, had nothing. I even found a Exchange Developer Kit, had nothing... I was not able to find Exchange.org, think they no longer exist. But thanks again for helping, I figured with the Microsoft Encryption, that the utlity would not be public knowledge.

That works fine..

Thanks

I will check out their site and see what I can find...

P.S, the reason I am needing this is to be able to perform more complex audits on what people are sending and receiving.. Kinda of a big brother approach for Hospitals.

Thanks again for your help.

Mucking with the transaction logs probably isn't a good idea. You'd be better off:

1. Turning on message tracking.
2. Turning up smtp protocol logging
3. Using the archive sink
