In December, we replaced our two jukeboxed DLT7000 drives with two jukeboxed SDLT320 drives but we're having problems reading our old DLT7000 tapes. Backup server is Networker 6.1.3 on Solaris 8.
We're getting the following in daemon.log -
01/07/04 10:11:50 nsrd: restore_server:<11>/usr/local/ (12/10/03) starting read from Month3.00107 of 15 KB
01/07/04 10:13:46 nsrd: media notice: Volume "Month3.00107" on device "/dev/rmt/0ubn": Block size is 4096 bytes not 131072 bytes. Verify the device configuration. Tape positioning by record is disabled.
01/07/04 10:13:46 nsrd: media warning: /dev/rmt/0ubn reading: fsr 829 read: Not enough space
01/07/04 10:13:47 nsrd: media emergency: could not position Month3.00107 to file 19, record 830
01/07/04 10:13:47 nsrd: media warning: /dev/rmt/0ubn reading: Not enough space
And then it disables the drive.
I applied all patches to the server before hooking up the new drives.
At present, we have to put the old drives in place in order to do restores. I considered attaching both units but discovered we'd need a license to have a second jukebox hooked up all the time.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Is there any way we can get around this (i.e. hooking up the old drives each time we need to do a restore)?
Thank you in advance.
