Hi,

Is it possible to create Read Only Word documents for the Web.I want to display both PDF and Word doc, but don't want to make it impossible for anyone to change the Word document online. So far no luck, I can make the doc READ only in Word, but when I upload it to my site, it is no longer READ ONly

Thanks
alabina

Protect it with a password. Tools>>Options>>Security I think.

If you mean so that when they download it, they cannot change it, there's no nice way to do it.

You can go to Tools-Protect Document, but guess what? All I'd have to do is download your doc. Open a new doc, and hit Insert-File and insert your doc and *poof*, your protection is history.

If you try to use VBA code to protect it, no dice. People can disable macros...
