I Copied an Access 2000 Database to A CD. I then went to another PC with Access 2000, and copied the database to the hard drive. When I open the database, it opens in "read only". How do I open it so I can work on it. I made another copy on the hard drive and tried renaming it, but it still opens in read only. Can't get "Save as"

Thanks

If you copy a database to a CD, I think it always shows up as read only.

Copy it to your hard drive. Right click on the file to see its Properties. It will show as Read Only. But you can click on the Archive button and change it to that. Then you can open it and do whatever you wish.
