Read only docs in wordxp

One of my users keeps having trouble in WordXP, most files she is opening are opening in read only. There are no unusual permissions on either the file or folder and no other user has them open. Other users can open them correctly though but there is nothing out of the ordinary about her account. I have tried as much as I can think about but nothing seems to work long term. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

since other people can access it fine, the prob may be with the profile. sugest that u rename the profile and let the system recreate it again.

u may need to copy documents, favorites, desktop and templates (if any) from the old profile.
