re: nt4 domain/ad domain interim level

hello just need a clarification (we r still nt4 dom)
when i upgrade my pdc to 2003 /ad and choose "interim"
what exactly is my domain name is it the nt4 dom name or, is it the active directory domain name that i choose during setup?

When people log in they will log into the same domain name as b4

so am i to assume that once all nt dc's are removed then it'll all be just the AD domain?

Sure it'll be AD but the logon domain will remain the same. I don't believe there is an option to change it unless you do the domain rename procedure

ofcourse for me it just raises the question of what the logon domain and how it differs from the ad domain

it's no different. It will be listed as pre windows 2000 domain name in ad.
