RE-INSTALLING IE5.5 SP2 - WHAT'S THE BEST WAY?

Problems with IE 5.5 SP2 have me thinking about reinstalling it --
(Maybe not the right forum, but this is where i get the most help and the best answers...)

Three questions:
1) Am i better of running the original 5.5 SP2 install program which i still have saved?
.... Or better off going to Add/Remove programs?

2) will the patches survive an install/reinstall?

3) Are there codes or switches i can use on the install .exe to save the patches?

...are there any other problems i should know about and get suggestions about?

Sorry about the time it took to reply but something was interfering with my typing. If you are having problems with the service pack, you may well find it better to delete it and do without it. I have often experienced problms with SP's and patches, I was better off without the bloody things.Dave
