Good day,
I wanted to know if anyone had any documentation on what is the best way to reconfigure my Nortel Meridian Switch to forward numbers off the PBX to cellular numbers. We want to accomplish this bc after hours we need to have our helpdesk number forwarded to who ever is on call that night!

Regards,

If your helpdesk group is setup in a ACD queue then you can set the NCFW to you cell number (quickest). When all the agents are done for the day and they log out, then calls forward automatically to the NCFW.

otherwise it all depends on your current setup.

i like to use ACD for this

get a new DN number say 4455

LD 23
req new
type acd
acdn 4455
mwc yes
maxp 1
ncfw 9xxxxxxxx ( cell # )

build all the acd's you need to match cell phones then just forward calls to the relevant tech

DO NOT MAKE CHANGES TO AN ACD DN because it may cause corruption..out & rebuild if needed.

Hey I noticed that this ACD was set up, what I wanted to know is how can I find out if the ACD's were disabled, and if I wanted to renable them or edit them what I use the same command. And also what will a DN have to be dedicated to that ACD?

ACD's will not go dissabled.
editing or changing an ACD is not good practice there are known corruption issues doing that, best practice is to OUT the ACD DN and re-build with the changes made then
any DN can be used for the ACD number.

There is no known problems with the ACD Queue DN in LD 23, what your refering to is the TN of ACD phone's, that may cause corruption but in my 27 years working on Nortel I personnely have never had that happen, but when I worked for Nortel, thats what we use to tell customers when we couldn't find a better answer for there problem.

Unless you know what your doing which I don't think you do, I would leave any already built ACD in LD 23 alone and build new ACD Queues.

At my former company we had a recording on the ACD Queue that gave the user the Option to leave a message or be sent to the Oncall phone, which we changed in the CP AppBuilder.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

why did we get off on acd's for this one? i would check the cdr option cff/cfo, make sure it;s cff then add cfxa to class of the set then add a key cfw 16... forward it external and check it..

we use that here for about 100 sets, either on call doc's or a few outside answering services..

if i want to control the forward dest, then i use a maxp 1 acd ncfw to the external number...

Thanks alot guys, tis actually works for me, being that there are only a few groups in my compnay that actually needs to have there calls forwarded to an outside number.

ace... i agree, but his op sounded as if he didn't realize that cfxa was an option.. as usual there is never a single way to do any one thing in a nortel box..
