Hello, I need some help here. I do not know much about hardware and I am having problems with my motherboard.
Recently,I bought a new 80GB hard disk and fixed it into my "all-in-one" mtherboard but it could only detect 60Gb of the hard disk. Therefore I got my friend to tried to fix it for me and he said that he will need to upgrade my bios and downloaded the so-called latest bios from the net and flash it. However, after flashing the motherboard the computer can't even boot up!! So I am wondering if there is anyway I can restore the motherboard bios or flash it again to upgrade it.

Thanks for all your help!

Ouch... how far into the boot process can it get? Or do you just get a black screen? If your friend used the wrong one or restarted too soon you may need to have it sent it to be reprogrammed.

Nothing appears on the monitor....can't even boot up

There are only three options I know of:
1) Send away the motherboard to the manufacturer to have the bios chip reprogramed.
2) Use the services of "bad flash" I think it is? they can send you a replacement bios chipor reprogram yours.
3) Hot swap!!!!!! if you are lucky enough to have the exact same motherboard you can get to the point of flashing the bios with the good motherboard (and correct flash!) then hot swop the good chip for the dead one "THEN FLASH" you have to make sure the chips are suitably loosened in there sockets to aid the swop.
