I have created a Remote Desktop connection for a specific application and saved it as an RDP file. I would like to distribute this to my users, but do not want them to be able to change any of the settings under Right click - Edit.
Is there a way to gray out the 'Edit' selection on the right click menu for the rdp shortcut OR if nothing else, gray out all the choices under the Edit menu.

Thanks!

If the shortcut is a shared network shortcut, just restrict it to a folder where they only have read permission.

Thanks Aquias, also for the previous response to my earlier post.
Tried the read-only folder route and found that a user can change the path and connect without saving the connection shortcut. That sends them straight to the desktop of the TS and my directive is to not allow users to access the desktop at all.
The rdp connection file can be opened in notepad....I've gotten that far, but have not found any line items that could be added that would restrict the appearance of the tabs.

No worries, I cannot list the amount of help I've gotten here so it's nice to give something back.

You can control this from group policy, this will disallow them to reach the desktop no matter what changes are made to the rdp connection.

It doesn't seem as if there is a way to truly restrict access to the mstsc properties (that I can find on the weba at present at least).

Possibly, create a script or .exe to call the custom rdp connection file?
