When I tried to install the rdp client for XP SP2 (as I did not find it under accesories, system tools), the install did not go through saying that it was already installed. But I could not find it. I did a Start -> Run -> mstsc, but no luck.
Please advice.
Either search your hard disk for mstsc or goto x:\windows\system32 and it should be in there. Remote desktop client comes with XP by default so maybe trying to install it you have actually uninstalled it.
When I was born I was so suprised I didn't talk for 18 months
thats because it's under communications not system tools.
BTW when you find it run it as mstsc /console , works better.
%SystemRoot%\system32\mstsc.exe
I had a similar problem as the post on 4-12-08. Installing SP3 fixed the entire problem. I believe there was a mismatch in files and SP3 overwrote all the incompatabilities between them.
