Well so far no problems, but before I destroy the Citrix machine ;-) I've to check a few things.
The first question:
What about security. Plain-text transmission? Openssl?
The other question:
I've a lot of AIX machines in the network which I have to connect to the W2k TS. Any experience.

It may not be much concern to you, but I believe the license for Windows Terminal Server is that you must pay for each client. Rdesktop bypasses the user authentication function and allows tons of users to connect.
You just may want to check with your corporate lawyers about this one.
Also I'm not sure what security Terminal Server has. You may just want to channel data through a encrypted tunnel. Please let Tek-Tips members know if their posts were helpful.

"Rdesktop bypasses the user authentication function and allows tons of users to connect."
That sounds bad. Perhaps I should implement VPN on my W2K TS to limit the client connection. I'll see. ;-)

Not a problem. After hearing about too many BSA 'infiltrate and destroy' cases, figured I'd give a warning about that.

I dont mean "bypassing" the logon screen. What I'm talking about is the Win2k TS auth count. It's bought for x amount of users, but the count signal is sent by the client (yeah, sucky security).
Using Rdesktop will allow 500 users to connect to a WIndows TS that's only registered to 10 active logins. A valid login/passwd is still needed. Please let Tek-Tips members know if their posts were helpful.
