Haven't really looked at this issue for awhile as it wasn't really a major issue. But we recently moved a site to pure ethernet and removed all token-ring devices. Since then rconip displays a server which we cannot connect to by normal means known as 'LOOPBACK'.

The original server is still there by manually inserting the server name using the insert key and typing it's defines rconag password... but I can't see this server's name on the rconip list.

Please assist

I had a similar problem after switching to a pure ip environment. I could connect to servers using rconip by hitting insert, then putting the ip of the server and it worked but no server list. Got SLP working correctly and all of my servers show up now. Try manually putting the info in on the client properties tab for service location on your workstation and the ip of your main slp server and see if you get a list, not sure if this is the same problem but it sounds similar. I would definitely try the ip instead of the name.

sorry, forgot to add... When you go to your workstation client properties, go to service location and under the first item I enter global, and second selection down I put the ip address of the main server. First post sounded a little vague. Hope this helps.

If you push out your SLP scope and DA's with DHCP, you don't have to worry about putting it in manually at each workstation.
