Hi,
Pls give some info on raw file sytem..like what r it's advantages.Ur ans is appreciated
 
Normally you want the OS to keep a catalog of you files how big they are where they are on the disk what there name is, and Buffer reads and write to the file for speed.

Some programs (databases sping to mind) already keep large data buffers in memory and are actually faster to not keep the data buffered twice. they can use raw disks, but you have no idea what is on the disk via the OS. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
