I have a Windows 2000 server with service pack 3.

At the com2 port there is a normal external modem connected. Every 10 minutes an automated process calls in and does some work and then drops the connection. This goes ok but sometimes the modem hangs and doesn't drop the phone line. So when the process tries to call in here again it get's a busy signal.

Is there a trick or something to make sure the line does disconnect or make sure that if the connection is longer then 5 minutes it automatically drops the line.

I have been looking for answers myself on the internet but all the documentation i Can find on the subject is about registry settings in Windows 3.11 and NT 4.

I know orking with analog modems is old but it is the only way of communicating with the other company at this moment.

Hope someone has some idea's
