Got a patch, a new IP500v2.bin file.
Installed it using the upgrade wizard.
Still no connection. Modem sounds much better now. You can hear it negotiating as you would expect.
Double checked programming, Line modem enabled, RemoteManger user setup with new password, DialIn enabled. RAS entry in place, Incoming Call Route setup with DialIn destination, system is set to provide dhcp on DialIn.
Regardless of what modem I use to try to get a dialup network connection, I get an "error 678, the modem did not respond".
