Rapidly growing database

My priv1.edb database is growing very rapidly. It used to hardly ever update but this morning it had grown by 1.5 Gig and continues to grow and update every 5-10 minutes. AV shows nothing. am i missing something?

any help very much appreciated.

Exchange System Manager. Drill down through the first information store to the mailboxes. This will tell you how big each box is. See the user concerned.

Often the problem is repeated sending of an email that exceeds the far end limit and it comes back. Repeatedly.

I checked the mail boxes and no user has an abnormal size mail box. I have pretty strict limits setup right now (100 Meg). beyond that they shouldn't get any bigger anyway right?
the store has grown 300 meg in the last 3 hours. This appears to have been going on all night.

I stopped the Information Store SErvice to see if that would stop the increase. the database didn't grow for over 15 minutes. After restarting the service it changed the modified time on the file (which I expected) but then it grew again 5 minutes later.
