RAM- WinME and BIOS no detect :(

I have just bought 64mb SDRAM 168pin (100mhz).
If i put it in the 1st slot for RAM on the m/b it detects fine and just loads up windows with 64mb, but the trouble is when i put the old 32mb module in the second slot it doesnt detect. if i sawp the modules round it detects only 32mb, and ignores the the 64. I have tried the tips in ME for resolving this prob (yes im that desperate!), but they dont work. (disable a windows option, a bios detect thing, and turn off some windows drivers. (sorry i cant give more info- im not that clever!))

The 2 modules r both 100mhz sdram (168pin obviously), 32 and 64 mb. Could it be ive reached the max Ram on the m/b? (its an antiquated 1996 thing that originally came with 8mb u c (sorry no more info on the m/b too- i didnt know about such things in 1996!)

It could be a BIOS limitation at 64 meg. If you've only got two slots, they may also have to be in pairs (older TX and I think, VX boards) in some motherboards.
Check for a BIOS upgrade, and do a search aroung

you might have two memory chips that are incompatible w/ eachother... that has happened to me before... Memory is very tricky whenit comes to mixing and matching!
