Hi All,

I am planning to re-use a server we have (PowerEdge 1750) as a virtual server host.

We can have up to 8Gb of RAM in the server, and we can use Win2k3 Enterprise R2 so Windows should be able to use all 8Gb as well.
However to my knowledge this is a x86/32-bit machine - so will it be OK to run 8Gb of RAM, or will it require the EM64 extensions to take advantage of it?

Cheers,

Steve.

32bit OS will be fine. With Windows 2003 Enterprise (R1 or R2) you will be able to address all 8 Gigs of RAM.

You may want to checkout VMWare. It is typically a more robust VM host than Windows, although it VMWare is more complex to setup.
