If it's a 1220 - Either memory or back light.
Try this first,
try removing the memory. Turn machine on, leave sit for 5 min+. Turn machine off - replace memory and try again. Let it sit for at least 15 min booting. You may need to have the memory replaced. Or it could be the back light controller.
