Looks like marketingtools now has a r8.1 pull down selection although you can select it the information appears to be linked to r8 database

There is an 8.1 selection on the support site for downloads as well but it is blank. Last I read the target GA was the end of this week but who knows.

They need to ramp up production of those V2 VCM cards first, to get the cash rolling in upon release :)

i heard july 9th was the "new" release date.

I'm playing with 8.1 on some of that fancy new hardware. It's kinda lame, but cool at the same time.

What is new with the VCM V2, anything? Other than no free IP End Point Licenses?

There is nothing different then the endpoints.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

There is "fancy new hardware" in 8.1? What is it? All I saw was the v2 VCM cards.

I think the server edition too.
It is no secret anymore, it is all in the 8.1 update doc on the partner portal.

Oh the server edition. Yea lost all excitement about that they day they told me it was not supported on virtual machines. Some how having to go back to a years outdated model of buying a server for a dedicated appliation does not have ring as "fancy" to me.

I just hope that they don't drop the ball AGAIN on basic features and functions again because surely I am fed up with that crap.
Have to spend more time fixing their firmware without being able to bill for time than actually installing the system and also having the customer breath down my neck ready to rip out the new and "improved" system that doesn't work right.

Enough of the bitching, let's jope that someone tested basics this time.
(Paging on analog port when the analog port is in a group, caller ID on analog trunks, upgrading during the entitlement phase, voice quality on the speaker phones, and then some I can't think of)

Well I dropped out of the server testing after hearing that so all of the hammering around on it that we normally do for Avaya didn't happen.

Let's see how successful the mid size market is with the IPO.
These are higher demand customers that want 24/7 functionality 365 days a year and reboots to make a line change are not very well received. Aura is a good solid product with lots of redundancy and they are trying to achieve similar results with the IPO but forcing it out the door can cost dearly as we have seen in the past (R4.0 debacle and also R8.0 hickups)
I am looking forward to installing R8.0 for a while until they get R8.1 cleaned up with the first maint release or maybe the second one.
Of course I will run it at home with 8.1 as soon as it comes out just to make sure I fall within the 90 day period to be able to upgrade and also play with all the new things, which are not a lot.

Kyle, virtual is on the roadmap.
There is already a license for it.

the next step is the cloud based IPO [banghead] then we are really in trouble

I've been told the new release date for 8.1 is now August 1st.

Has anyone else heard anything along those lines?
