R4.2 - 1600 IP Phones - Hot Desking doesn't work

Hi,

I'm testing new 1600 phones (latest FW 1.03) on IP500 R4.2.4 (1600 licence included) and I've noticed that Hot Desking doesn't work.


I' ve made a user without extension (hot desk user), checked force login, entered password.

Whrn I enter *35 it says Call Rejected, but you can Log out in Avaya menu/Log out .. so far so good.

Then system ask you to enter ext. number (HotDesk number)& password and press ok, then error displays Extension in User, # to register.

This works on 54xx/56xx phones without problems...

bug maybe?

Did you press #? It happens on 54xx, I've had it when losing connectivity for whatever reason, pressing # just says use the number anyway.

Works for me
You need to enter the extension number
The hotdesk number is for the user :)

The phone needs an extension to work
Then you can login with the user

Yeah tlpeter is right, I misread that, you need an extension number for that user otherwise how does it recieve calls? You can have a physical port without an extension number but not a user.

Phone (IPP 1608)already has ext. no. (in my case 62) and user with 62.
What I'm trying to achive is when user (62) wants to go to a HG as an agent with hot desk number 221 which is part of i.e. Sales hunt group. I've demo setup for CCC and potentional customer asked if this is possible...

On 5410 phone I've registered user with ext. no. 60.
- I log out this user with *36
- I press Login
- then it says: HOT DESK LOGIN, Enter Extn: 221 (just like with 1608) and i press Next
- then it says Password(221): i enter password
- now i'm logged as Agent in Sales hunt group for CCC purposes

On 1608 I've tried with # and OK, but still the same...


 
Jsut do *35*number*password#
This must work

Did you upgrade the 1608 with the right bin file ?
Or is it just out of the box ?

Yeah got it ... there is no need to log out, as I've thought.
*35*N*pass# worked :)))

Upgraded to the latest ver. 1.03

Can you help I am trying to get my 1600 phones (latest FW 1.03) on IP500 R4.2.4 working it says on the INCOMPATABLE. Any Ideas?????

You need Trial licence for R4.2.4.
With next maintenance release in November (this year :) ), you won't need it...
 
Through Avaya's ADI site. Do you have a login? As you need one.

no just spoken to my disti but no luck. I wanted to be ahead ofmy competitors..
 
Just wait a phew weeks, it should be release begin november
But it can be delayed sometimes :)
