"Unable to create printer DC"

I am running Window 2000 on an IBM PC. I have a SLP220 label printer hooked to the Com1 port. I am using Smeadlink to try to print lables. Everytime I go to print I get the following error. "Unable to create printer DC"
I am not sure what this is or what it means.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In your printer properties - do you have Com1 selected as your printer port instead of LPT1? Are you using a Windows 2000 driver for that printer?

Are you using the Newest Software for your Windows 2000 system? Go to:

http://www.seikosmart.com/support/slpdiscsoft.html

and download the 4.61 app and try that.

Also - you should be logged on as a person with enough rights to install a printer.
