I have a shortcut in the "Quick Launch" Bar. It's a shortcut to a playlist file, so when I click on it, it plays it in Windows Media Player.

I set it to "Start Minimised"....but it doesn't. It just starts normally.

Why won't it work? Is there a way around it?

The reason this is happening is because you are asking the playlist to start minimised. The Playlist then in effect opens mediaplayer using default settings. The following will work for you.

1: Create a new shortcut
2: Type in "Path to Media Player" "Path to Playlist"

For Example

"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\Greg\My Documents\My Music\My Playlists\blah.wpl"

3: Click Next
4: Type a name
5: Change Shortcut to start minimised.

OK That worked...but it doesn't just start minimised...it starts invisible....

No TaskBar Icon or anything. I don't want to have to close it from Task Manager....how do I get the usual Taskbar Button to appear so I can open it if I want to?

Sorry, I can't even close it in the Task Manager LOL.

Had to turn off speakers lol. Any other way to make it work normally?

Not Sure about getting the Normal Task Bar Button. However you can click on a standard shortcut without the playlist part on the end to oprn the player and continue playing where it is at that time. Or you can click again on the same icon you used to launch MEdia Player to open the player and Restart the playlist.
