Hi,

I'm not sure if render is the right word, but I would like to know if there's a way to render/smooth a picture when the image/picture box it's displayed in is smaller than the source.

An example would be the way a dedicated picture browser displays images - using VB controls results in poor resolution when a large image is made smaller.

Any ideas ?

I suspect that my copy of Dan's book slightly predates your - what with it being called "Visual Basic Programmer's Guide to the Windows API" (note lack of the words '32 bit'), and a little circle saying "Covers Visual Basic 2.0".

Mind you, I don't seem to be able to find it at the moment...

JEBUS!!! has that book been around that long (since VB2 i mean)... the guy must be loaded!!!

anyways... enough of mr appleman!! (unless someone out there is interested, ISBN 0-672-31590-4 : VB Programmers guide to the Win32 API by Dan Appleman published by SAMS)

again strongm... nice code [thumbsup2]

Thanks strongm,

Sorry for the late reply. I managed to find another way around it (copies a picture to memory, then sends it to the control of your choice), but I'll definately give your code a try.

Thanks again for the help.

Cheers
