Hi,

Once I forgot my "Program Files" Explorer window open, before closing my computer. Since then every time I open my computer the "Program Files" Explorer window opens too. I can't get rid of it. :(
Do you have any idee where should I search for deleting this. It isn't in Startup folder. Or where should I look for help, I have no ideea.

Thanks in advance.

Open your Control Panel, then take Administration Tools then Computer Manager.

In the left plain click System Information, Software Enviroment then Startup Programs. The list of items in the startup will be displayed in the right plain. New Zealand, a great place to visit.

Yes, that shows you what's starting up, but doesn't allow you to alter it.
Go into regedit to hklm/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run and you can delete the offending key if it's there. May want to check /runonce just in case as well.
Check the same path underneath Hkey_current_user as well.
There are a couple 3rd party "startup" control panels available for w2k that act similar to msconfig, that I find handy to have. Remember, you're unique... just like everyone else.

jasen is correct , the only way to remove them is in the registry .. Mohamed Farid

Shut windows explorer down by going to file, then hold ctrl key down and exit from the file menu. Supposedly after doing so when you boot the next time it will not open explorer.

From where did you get this futuretech204 ?

When we had that problem it was an Empty KEY in the registery with just "" around it. We deleted it and that fixed the problem.
