"#Name" shows in a form field

I am just learning Access for a project I was assigned. Boss thought that with all my Excel skills, I should be able to figure out Access quickly. HA! (My head hurts everytime I am within 10 feet of it)

Situation: Using an input form, a user can make an entry that does update the table. That works a-okay. But, the form that then feeds off the query has three fields that show #Name. All other fields are perfect!

I checked my source and it is set for the correct column. Why would I have the error #NAME showing? NONE of my five (mostly useless) books discuss this. Help?

#Name? means that Access couldn't determine the value of the field. Are these bound or unbound fields? Are they expressions? Please post more information and maybe someone can help you out.

Your statement I checked my source and it is set for the correct column suggests that the control you're having a problem with is a combo box. Remember, that when you assign values for the columns in a combo box in a private sub the count starts at zero (0). You might expand on what you meant. In the Format and Data pages in the properties sheet, the count starts at one (1).

I am linking a combo yes/no box.

My input sheet has the combo box yes/no. That feeds to the table which then shows accurately what was input. But when the queried form gathers that data, it shows the #name message.

I am pretty sure I controlled to the query accurately too.....but I will have to double check that when I get to the office.

Never mind. I figured it out when I back tracked. I had a good connection to the query for that field, but dummy me had not included that table field in the query itself.
