Hi folks,

As some of you are painfully aware, I do tend to write long winded posts. I will try to keep this short.

I am retreating totally off-line, severing all 'Net connections, and therefore will no longer post anything to Tek-Tips. It has been a huge learning experience for me. I have gained so much from this place, and am deeply grateful to a number of regulars who have shared such generous knowledge. My knowledge and skills have improved vastly with the availability of such a wide community.

I am also very grateful to those who felt that I have helped them, in what ever small way. It contributed to the feeling that this IS a community. A vibrant place to learn, to share and grow.

Thank you all.

I do want to mention some specific handles.

Skip - you awe me, and have made me laugh so hard that I ached.

Tony - having you decide to change and go with a global template for code....nah nah na. Just kidding. You had given me some delightful insights and forced me into humble learning. For this I am grateful.

PHV - I have learned a huge lesson in clarity and brevity (at least in my code if not my prose). I know Skip is tops in many things, but...no offense to you Skip...PHV, you are the best.

Dreamboat - Anne, just plain thank you. You are truly a gem. I will treasure the book.

fumei...signing off

Gerry,

Goodbye!

Your advice has, I'm certain, helped many people here, and your contributions will be missed.

I know that we have learned from each other both here and elsewhere. I shall continue to learn, I'll just have to pinch someone else's ideas now - lol. Whatever you plan to do I hope your learning continues too.

My Thanks for the past, and my Very Best Wishes for the future.

Enjoy,
Tony

Shame to see you leave. If you are online again drop me a line just for the hell of it!

If a man says something and there are no women there to hear him, is he still wrong? [ponder]
How do I get the best answers?

This is indeed a loss. Best of luck for future.
