"Directory not found." Error a000fe36 HEX / BA v9 SP1 W2k 4

Hello,

I've got a strange probleme and I could need some advice:

We're using Veritas Backup Exec v9 SP1 on Windows 2000 Server.
While backing up a NAS device (Windows 2000 SAP based, Veritas Remote Agent installed) the backup job fails with error "a000fe36 HEX".
In the describtion of this failed job is mentioned that some directories and/or files could not be found - but these files exist!

Some things we've already checked:
-NTFS rights/permission problem: Backup-Admin can access these files
-The files/directories exist
-In each failed job different files/directories appear.

Any help is welcome!

I hope you purchased support with your software. I just upgraded and very little of their knowledge and support docs has been added to their website. They said they are working on it, when I called in and finally got last issues resolved.

If you see this error message on a file server then it is probably too busy doing the backup to verify security information. Split the server between several jobs to aleviate the problems.
EG.- if you server has 3 drives c:,d:,e:.

C:-is on 1 job, D: is on another, and e: is on another make sure the jobs will append to media.

This is veritas' fix for this problem. Although I am not pleased with this fix it at least fixes the problem.
