I have a corrupted database that I am trying to recover but am running into problems.

I can't import anything from it. At all. All I get is the same error message. There are no *.ldb files out there. I also have disabled the AllowBypassKey function.

Could I ever recover it or is it gone?

Note: This is not a big deal, because I had a back-up that was about 1 hr old when this happened, but I'd like to find out for future reference.

Hi Zach,
Odd are it's scrap. If you only lost an hour you are one lucky .... I've had 97 and 2000's "implode" and always when the backup failed. Worst was 4 days plus mods flushed away. You are really wise to have had a backup as there's just too many things that can go wrong. If you were without, there are people out there who can "most of the time", extract fair portions if not all, but you'd pay for it. A big word of advise for anyone who tries to compact over a network: Don't, or try not to. I have wrecked more Db's doing this than I can count. My network? maybe. But it only takes a sec to move the Db locally, copy it, do your compact, check its ok, and send it back. Better safe than sore fingers typing?! Gord

Thanks Gord.

I'll consider this one a loss.
