Thanks Dom!! I sorta, kinda figured that the old R4 configuration was still wreaking havoc within the new upgrade.....I tried everything you said, to no avail...
I wonder if I just need to tear it all down, and just start from scratch...Since we switched ISP's, I've had one client have a problem with caching the new IP for the server anyway, and I noticed that when I tried to do a fresh install of the R5 client, Win2k wouldn't ditch all of the old files from her R4 software....There's still something in the registry that I can't get rid of....I found a solution to that, however I don't know how to write an run the agent for it...
Anyway, as for our R5 server, it's so convoluted now, it won't even give me access to the doladmin DB, and other vital DB's I need to get into....The error with the doladmin DB keeps popping up everytime I try to change or delete something....So I do believe you are correct in that there's a whole lotta stuff goin on with the old R4 configuration that's still hanging around...
Therefore, it is my opinion that upgrades as they go, just majorly suck....Hugely....
Now, I think I just may have to do this all over from scratch..All of this was working just dandy before our ISP switched us over to another network with completely NEW IP addys...Nothing has worked since then, except access to our network drives....Drat...Thanks for your help though...You've clued me into something that I thought about awhile ago....
In the meantime the people who host our website, will set us up with email thru Outlook until I can get this resovled...Yee-fricken-haw....I'm just so over it right now, I don't know what to do at this point....I feel so "defeated"...Again, I had this all working before the IP addy and DNS IP change.....I just don't get where this all fell apart at....
But you know what? Over this past weekend, I did a tracert command on our mail server, and it timed out for a good 10-12 hops before it resolved itself....It's still doing the same thing today...But our web host tells me that our DNS nameservers can find our mail server....I did what you said and ditched the foreign domain document, but I still think there's a lotta other R4 configs that just don't belong in our new R5 setup...Problem is, I don't know where to go to find ALL of them.....I even created a new Configuration Document to no avail.....
Blah....I've had it for today....and I truly DO hate Mondays...Just like my friend Dilbert.....Heeee...
