Hi,

I am getting a "Class is not licensed for use" error when instanciating a class which has the animation control included.

It works fine on my test box, but when I run it on our test box (using VMWare with blank XP installation) I get the error.

I have copied MSCOMCT2.OCX to Windows\System32 and registered the control using regsvr32.

Thanks in advance!

Chris

When you registered the OCX did you get a "success" message? One work around is the subclass the OCX. Normally a subclassed control does not look at the registry for proper licensing.

Hi Mike,

Yes I did. I am wondering if it something to do with VMWare.

Chris,

Are you running VFP 6.0 or earlier?

If so, you might need to update your registry settings. There is a file called FOX.REG which contains the required settings. If you have a copy anywhere, just double-click on it. If not, try finding somewhere you can download it from.

The problem was fixed in VFP 7.0 (if I remember right).

Mike

Hi,

We are using VFP7 SP1. The control is installed using a MSI, by a merge module provided by Wise Installer for Windows.

I have tried a manual approach and the error is still occuring.

I am going to try the MSI outside of VMWare in case that is causing a problem.

Regards

Chris

ChriscBoy,

The best advise I can give you is to upgrade to VFP9SP1 - this will ensure you are working with uptodate software working very good also with VMWare.

I cant find any problem at all with MSCOMCT2.OCX in VFP9

Good Luck,
