How can i embed Quicktime movies into my Dreamweaver HTML page and have it be compatible with Explorer and Netscape, Windows and Mac? I have gone to the Dreamweaver support online and it has only been partially helpful. I have gone to the pages that talk about using the "Check Plug-in" behavior and using the embed plug-in tool. I have gotten the movie to come in fine with Netscape, but with Explorer, I can not get it to load the page without fishing the visitor off to the default plug-in download URL, even when the user already has the plug-in. And i have checked the box that says to use the primary URL when a plug-in is not detected. I realize that explorer does not always detect plug-ins. However, I have been to many sites that play movies embedded within them, and i know it can be done better than I am doing it now.

The only time i have been able to get it to work correctly is when i specify which plug-in to look for, such as Quicktime Plug-in 5.0.2. But, if the user has 5.0.1, they get fished off to the download page as well, even if 5.0.1 is plenty current to run the embedded movies.

I can't believe that I am the first person to come across this issue. So, if anyone can help, i would greatly appreciate it.

WHy don't you find a page where it works then have a look at their code?
