I have created huge QT object movies but the resolution is hopeless compared to a standard orbiting mpeg file playing in Windows media player. I would just use Media player and be done with it but it does not have good drag functionlity.

Its insane that I cannot find an object movie player that supports mpeg4/mpeg2/divx/avi playback with drag functionality. Its would take very little for a developer to incorporate drag functionality in Media Player.

Does anyone know of a player such as this?

Yes the divx player and media player have a little handle on the control panel that can be dragged but its awkward to grab hold of this compared with dragging anywhere on the screen as in Quicktime. Also does not work very well in full screen mode.

Quicktime has a great implemenation but suffers from severe aliasing even at large frame sizes ie 2000x1000. I want to run these off a laptop harddrive not the internet.

Well, program a player, or live with what you have. If you want perfect playing to your liking, UNCOMPRESSED AVI or MOV are your only choices.
