Quicktime 7 won't open affects itunes (mac)

my quick time has just stopped working, It will not open when I opwn a qt file, will not open when I open the program, will not close unless forced to quit and I beleive it is affecting Itunes as well. I has reinstalled it with same results, I have used the quicktime 7.0.1 revert installation found on apple web site and still have the same problem. I am useong a "sawtooth" g4 450 runnig os 10.3.3.
