I wanted to play AVI files on my MS Media Player and i was told that i would need a Codec for the player. The player is updated to the newest version. I was hopeing that someone on here could 1. Tell me where to get this and 2. Where and how to install it. I have tried to install it before, but the install must not have worked correctly because i still can not veiw AVI files on the player. ALSO, i was wondering what was needed to play AVI files through Winamp. I have the newest version for Winamp also, but some AVI files will play and others will not, its kinda wierd =/. Any help would be appreciated.

Normal AVI files you would not need a codec.. however, if this file has been encoded using something like DivX or Xvid, then you would need those respective codecs.

Here is a great codec pack:

And if you can't get the link to work, just select one of the mirrors for K-Lite Codec Pack 2.41 Full
